Help save Asbury Park’s north end beach by sending Freeholder Burry and the other Freeholders a letter. Take action here.

Recently the Asbury Park City Council sent a letter to Freeholder Lillian Burry asking the County to consider purchasing the Bradley Cove lot as dedicated parkland. Freeholder Burry has made it clear that she and a majority of the Monmouth County Park’s Recreation Commissioners feel it is Asbury Park’s responsibility to order the appraisal to begin this process. In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, it seems clear that building on the east side of Ocean Avenue is insane. And what perfect timing, the Asbury Park Waterfront Redevelopment Committee is looking for your comments on their proposed amendments to the Waterfront Redevelopment Plan. Clearly one amendment should be to remove the Townhomes at Bradley Cove and replace them with a regional oceanfront park.

The Waterfront Committee will be hearing comments on Thursday September 15th at 6 pm at the City Council Chambers in Asbury Park. Here is the WRP Committee Press Release with all the details.

To aid in preparing your comments, the Jersey Shore Chapter has prepared a one page summary Arguement for an Oceanfront Park. All of the information was taken from this website so if you want to dig deeper, please do.

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday September 15th at 6 pm!
